Shipowners’ Protest.

London, Sept. 10. Australian shipowners have written to Air Chamberlain asking him to sccuro exemption of ocean vessels from the operation of the Commonwealth InterState Bill, which fhey declare will havo a most injurious effect on shipowners and the trado generally of Great Britain and the colonies. The powers proposed to be_ conferred by tho Bill are capable of being employed so as to destroy all freedom of contract in ocean-borne traffic
