RAILWAY COLLISION
CROWDED TRAINS. BUT NO SERIOUS INJURY.
VARIANCE OF STATEMENTS BY OFFICIALS.
By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright Melbourne, Sept. Id. Incoming and outgoing Boxhill trains collided this afternoon at Jolimant, near the scene of the great collision twenty vears ago. The promptitude of the drivers ot both trains in pulling up prevented an appalling disaster. The trains were crowded. A great many suffered minor injuries, and from the shock, but none were seriously injured. The driver of the train which left Princes Bridge declares that the lino was signalled clear, but the signalman denies that. One carriage was derailed.
