QUEEN’S STATUE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Christchurch, last night. It was announced at a meeting of the Canterbury Jubiice Memorial Committee to-day that the statue of the late Queen may be expected in December. In all, ■£16567 has been subscribed, about £'4o less than the estimated cost of the statue in England. It was decided to cable to Mr Itcece, ox-Mayor, now m England, and the Agent-General, asking them to select designs for a panel. SPORTING. Sant Uario was scratched for the New Zealand Cup this morning.
