THE PAPANUI.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, Sept. 27. _ The fire on tho Papanui has been extinguished. All the cargo in No. 8 hold was badly damaged. The sheep arc now being discharged. Wellington, last night. Tho Chairman of tho Now Zealand Underwriters’ Association has received a cable message from the Victorian Underwriters’ Association, stating that the fire on the steamer Papanui, which put into Vigo, on the Spanish coast, has been extinguished. All the cargo in No. 3 hold has been seriously damaged.
