The Federal Government intend to pay a bonus to encourage and develop the iron industry. The Federal Postmaster has informed Mr Seddon that he may utilise the Suez route for the despatch of New Zealand mails if he pays a per capita share of the .£'70,000 for which the Commonwealth is responsible.
