BAPTIST CONFERENCE.

A GLOOMY REPORT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, last night. At the Baptist Jubilee Conference to-day, there was debate on numerous important propositions. At the morning session, the President introduced his scheme for a Board of Introduction to introduce ministers and churches to ono another. Very lengthy discussion ensued, iu which the Rev. J. G. Greenhaugh took part. Ultimately, the scheme was unanimously adopted. The Rev. A. Dewdney submitted a bold proposal for the prosecution of homo missions by placing ministers of experience in towns in which no Baptist church exists, and by tho unifying of tho mission schemes of provincial auxiliaries. The report was adopted. In both cases influential committees are to be set up to energetically prosecuto the schemes. Tho Rev. J. Boreham submitted a report of tho Baptist Almanac, which showed a circulation of 7250, and a balance in band. In the evening a great Jubilee demonstration was held iu tho School of Music. The Rev. Dolamore, tho pioneer minister, presided, and addresses wero delivered by the Revs. Mr Dallaston, Wellington, and Clark, Auckland. Tho Rev. J. G. Greenhough, tho representative from Britain, delivered a splendid speech. His utterances wero most warmly received and greeted with great enthusiasm. His satire provokes much laughter, and this evening he kept the audience in a continual storm of applause by his magnificent oration.
