ADVANCE OF WOMAN.
(Special to Times.i Wellington, last night. For tho first time in its history Wellington’s Benevolent Board will hereafter include a woman in its ranks, Mrs E. F. Allen, wife of the leader writer on the Evening Post stall. Mrs Allen, who is perhaps better known under her maiden name of Stella Henderson, is a Master of Arts, a barrister and solicitor of the Supremo Court, a contributor of clever articles to several magazines, and secretary to the local Society for the Protection of Women and Children. A few years ago she was one of the most intellectual of the younger members of the National Council of Women. Her candidature to day evoked some opposition, ono of the strongest opponents being the secretary of the very Board of which she is now a member.
