A JOCKEY KILLED AND A RACE HORSE SHOT.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, last night. At the Takapuna races yesterday' one of the contesting horses, Rufus, fell aDd his rider, Henry Berry, was badly injured through the horse falling on top of him. Subsequently the unfortunate man died while on his way to the hospital, In the last race, the Welter Handicap, the gelding Brilliant, ridden by W. Satman, fell and broke his leg. The horse had to be shot. Satman was hurt.
