GAZETTE NOTIFICATIONS.
(By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. The following have been appointed members of the Surveyor’s Board : John Strauchon, Morgan, Carkeek, Hon. G. F. Richardson, Arthur O’Doonahoo. The Chatham Islands County has been declared a health district. Messrs H. G. Seth-Smith, Hone Heke, and A. L. D. Fraser have been appointed a Royal Commission to investigate certain claims to Native lands. Mr John Mclntyre has been reappointed a member of the Southland Land Board, and Mr Henry Michel School Commissioner for Westland. The following promotions have been made in the Militia:—To be BrevetColonel, Lieut. Colonels T. W. Porter, S Newall, C. 8., W. H. Webb, A. W. Robin, C. 8.. R. H. Davies, C.B. To be Lieut.Colonel, Major R. H. Owen ; to be Brevet Lieut'-Colonel, Major E. W. C. Chaytor; to be Major, Captains A. G. E. Bingley and E. Bartlett.
