At the request of a committee of citizens, the Mayor of Wellington has agreed to call a public meeting to consider the question of making a presentation to the Premier prior to his depaituie for London. The proposal of those who are moving in the matter is that Mr Seddon be presented with a purse of sovereigns in recognition of his services in connection with the war m bouth Africa.' A large number of prominent citizens are supporting the movement.
