In the Auckland Match 100 was the highest aggregate.; A steady wind was blowing up the range. The match produced the best shooting of the meeting. Auckland Match, SUO, 000, and iOO yards, seven shots.—Drummond (Dannevirke), £6, 98; Anderson (Kaitangata), £5, 98; King (Oamaru), Shaw (Ohmeniuril, £3, 97 each ; G. Hyde (Opaki) £2, Turner (Wellington) £2, Maingay (liako) £2, Donigan (Gore) £2, 95 each. Ninoty five won tho match last year. . The highest aggregates arc ; G. Hyao (Opaki) 459, Hawthorne (Karon) 454, W. Loveday (Woodville) 446, King (Oamaru) 442, Bidwill (Kaiwarra) 440, Ballinger (Potone), Head (Wellington), and Nelson (Woodville) 439, King (Opaki), Bunting (Petone) 437, Aitcheson (Kaitangata), Hare (Wellington), Davidson (Wairoa), Wmslade (Wanganui) 435, Mole (Napier) 434, Carlson (Auckland), Maingay (Piako) 432, Anderson (Kaitangata),N.Randell (Karon) 431, Ayson (Gore) 440, Webster (Auck* land) 429, Purnell (Wanganui) 428, Drummond (Dannevirke) 427, Domigan (Lore), Wilson (Woodville), Offing (Nelson) 42b each. _ _ The championship will be decided tomorrow afternoon. Welch, of Piako Rifle Club, wins the Kynoch Cup for the most points in the two rapidity matches. Open to ten volunteers of any volunteer district, 600yds and 700yds, seven volleys at each range.—Wellington Eifies, £l2, 366 points ; Auckland district, £lO, 313 ; Wellington Rifles No. 2, £5, 295 ; Wanganui No. 2, £5, 286; North Canterbury No. 2, 269.
After this match the Field-firing Match commenced. It was watched with great interest, not only by visitors, who were plentiful, but by competitors. It resulted : Wellington Rifles, £ls and Ammunition Cup, 221 ; Auckland Infantry, £l2 10s, 219; North Canterbury, £lO, 135; Otago Infantry, £5, 184.
To-morrow’s shooting commences with the Teams Match, for which twenty-five have entered.
