The Bank of England reserve is £26,296,000; coin and bullion, £35,075,000; proportion of reserve to liabilities, 45 - 48 ; in circulation, ,£'28,841,000; public deposits, 1118,492,000 ; other deposits, 1139,126,000; Government securities, £ 16,274,000; other securities, £33,556,000. Consols are at 94J. New South Wales fours are at 116; threes, 95±; New Zealand threes, 94. Other stocks are unchanged. The English wheat market is lifeless. Continental markets aro firm. American markets are weak owing to the huge stock in the United States and Canada. Cargoes are dull, but nominally unchanged in price. The American visible supply is estimated at 84,315,000 bushels. The butter market is steady, but unchanged in price. Australian stock is practically finished. Now Zealand is firm.

The sugar market is quiet. German, 6s 6d ; first marks, 8s lid. Copper is tending downward. Spot and threo months, both 54. Lead is at 111-; pig iron at 53s 6d ; spelter, 17 15-16. Silver is at 2s 1 3-16 d. At the Bradford sale wool is firm, but unchanged in price. Three months’ bills are at 25s Bd.
