NUHAKA NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Cricket.
The return match between Frasertowii and Nuhaka was arranged to take place at Morere on Saturday last The Nuhaka players assembled on tlip ground at the appointed hour, but as the expected visitors failed to appear, a scratch match was arranged and teams were then selected by Messis Stewart and Fletcher, resulting m a win for Mr Stewart’s team by 34 runs. The principle scores were made bv-Jefferson 13, Chapman 32, A. Richardson (not out) 12 Stewart 10. Arundel 12, and I'• Joblin 11scores were 111 and 77. Much interest was taken in the match, which afforded good practice for local Camping Out. A number of settlers taking advantage of the delightful weather that has prevailed during the last three wee , paid a visit to the beach on Uic Mahm Peninsula. The spot selected or the camp was a shady nook on tne pm perty of Mr Ormond, that gentleman kindly allowing the picnickers the free use of his ground, and also Paddockmg for the horses. There is a splendid si retch of sandy beach at the J ','p ’ an ideal place for camping, and all the party spent a most enjoyable time riding, fishing, bathing, etc. There is an abundance ot iced throughout the district and some of the grass-seed sown on the new bums is beginning to look green. The fc heepI farmers are now busily engaged m tne work o£ dipping sheep, etc.
