BOWLING.

There was a large attendance at tho bowling green yesterday, and some good play was witnessed. In the morning an alphabetical contest was held, A. and Me. playing the rest of alphabet. A good game resulted in the latter half of the alphabet winning by a point. The following wore the scores : Lewis Orr McGowan Nicholas Ambridge Massey Ferris (skip) t 27 Matthewson (s’p) 19 Harris F. Pettie Cumming Qnigley Hookey _ Robertson Gaudin (skip) 24 Sidebottom (skip) 25 Adair Rosie Jackson Martin Cummingham Wallace Dixon (skip) 15 Witty 26

In the afternoon sides were selected by the Vice-President, Mr J. A. Harding, and Secretary, Mr Dixon, and a keenly-con-tested game resulted in a victory for the latter by a point, the scores being as follows :

Adair made a good stand against Humphreys, whom he easily defeated. Adair led throughout, and played a first-class game. Hennessy met Willock, and a good game ended in a victory for Hennessy bv 24 to 15. In single scratch games Wallace beat Martin by 20 to 14, and Bright beat Simson by 18 to 15.
