In this case, there had been no keeper convicted.' It was not an offence to play pakapoo or any other Chinese game, except in a house kept for the purpose. In fact, in this case there was no evidence that the game had been played at all —only the production of certain articles used in games of chance, which were found on the premises. The case stands partly heard. THE TRADE AWARDS.

In interpreting trade awards to-dayi the Arbitration Court decided that, in the building trade, men called upon to assist to erect scaffolding be paid Is 2d an hour, and men working at a concrete-mixing board, Is Id an hour. In the tailorcsses’ award, the Court directed that alterations not provided for in the log be paid for on the basis of Is per hour.
