April 9.—The Federal Postmaster is tak.ng steps to intercept corresoondence for bookmakers, business letters relating to church bazaars, raffles, and art unions.
NEW HEBRIDES. The Federal Premier lias received a communication from Burns, Pliilp, and Company, stating that they have arranged to throw open thirty thousand acres of rich alluvial land in South Santo, New Hebrides. The lease will be granted to British subjaects only, in live hundred acre blocks, at a nominal rental, and settlers will be conveyed free to the island.
