GRAND LODGE OF NEW 7 ZEALAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. The annual convocation of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand Freemasons began to day, Grand Master Russell, of Auckland, presiding. The report of the Board of Benevolence showed that A'l39 19s was distributed in the benevolent fund during the year. The annual statement of accounts showed the credit of various funds asunder: General, £1156 ; benevolent, £2331; widows and orphans’, j£S94 ; aged and indigent Masons, ,£268. The report of the Board of General Purposes recognised the recent death of Bro. Beilby, Grand Superintendent of Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne district, recorded the opening of four new lodges during the year, and recommended that the next convocation be held at Auckland. Records showod that Bro. 11. J- Williams, Past Deputy-Grand Master of Wellington, was unanimously chosen for the office of Grand Master for the ensuing year, 31 Lodges and the members of the Grand Lodge having nominated him. The election of officers resulted : Hawke's Bay and Gisborne Grand Chaplain, Rev. C. Robertshawo ; Grand Sword Bearer, Bro. J. W. McDougall ; Grand Steward, Bro. Robert R. Groom ; Member of Board of General Purposes, Bro. T. C. Dawson ; Member of Board of liQuoYsleuce, Bro. REhavcl Schuudy.
