A MURDERED CHINAMAN

CONFESSION OF THE MURERER.

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, May 5. A new development of the Yurnba mystory has taken place. Peera, a Cingalese, wbilo at Maclean, on tho way to Sydney to servo a sentenco for stealing the Chinaman’s money, admitted to tho warder, policeman, and othors that ho killed All Won. He said they quarrelled. He wanted his wages from the Chinaman, with the view of leaving the latter’s service.

The Chinaman, however, would not pay, and threatened Peera with his gun and tomahawk. A struggle took place on the road about dark, and he took the gun from tho Chinaman. Ho hit tho latter with it, stunning him. Then he dragged him to tho river close by, and drowned him in three feet of water by holding him down till dead. Then he tied the victim’s pigtail to tho stern of the boat, and towed the body out near the sea. There ho cut the pigtail, and let the body go. He donied that there was blood in the hut, and the boat was the Chinaman’s. He said tho police were telling lies. He also denied robbing the Chinaman, saying that the money he had was his own, not tho Chinaman’s.
