The team to represent England in the first test match will be selected from Maclaren, Jackson, Fry, Mason, Itangiteinhji, Jessop, Lilloy, Braund, Hirst, Bhodes, Hayward, Tyldcsley, and one other. A meeting of tho committee appointed at Bournemouth to arrange matters with tho Australians resolved that, owing to the unsatisfactory manner of negotiation conducted by tho Australians, and tho impossibility of fixing a suitable date, the match be abandoned. Tho amount required by tho Australians as a guarantee was already promised.
