DEFECTIVE TAP.
£4OOO WORTH OF DAMAGE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. A defective water tap in the tea rooms over the large shop of Court Bros., drapers, of Queen street, burst, and after the premises closed on Saturday night a torrent of water poured through the fioors, causing damage to the haberdashery, probably amounting to two thousand pounds. There was six inches of water on the main floor when the shop opened this morniDg. The damage is estimated at £4OOO.
