TWO YOUNG MEN ARRESTED,

Yesterday, two young men, named John Edward Howell and Matthew Spellar, bushfaliers, who had been arrested at an ear y hour, were charged with assault and robbery, The assault is alieucd to have been committed late on Tuesday night in Giadstone road, the person assaulted being •John Hansen, laborer, who states he lost about 25a during the affair. On the application of Sergeant Siddells, accused were remanded until 11.30 a.m. to-day. Sergeant Siddells stated that the case was a very serious one, and asked that substantial bail be fixed. His Worship fixed bail at .£2OO for each of the accueed* with tive sureties of £IOO each,
