At a tpeCal meeting of the Harbor Board yesterday, held price to the ordinary business, a resolution was passed confirming the striking of the rate. Capt. Tucker remarked that he hoped that in the near future, the Board would see its way to reduce the rate by two or threesixteenths.
Lord Banfurly finds it impossible to visit Gisborne in connection with the Veterans’ Home proposal, and he will in all probability depute the Hon J. Carroll, Native Minister, who will be in Gisborne on Coronation Day, to inaugurate the movement there for the collection of fuade throughout the district.
