[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Timaru, last night. A meeting of Timaru brauch of tho Farmers’ Union, held in private, resolved (1) to bring before tbo next Colonial Conference tbo desiraoility of amending tho rulos to permit the Union to defend mem bers affected by labor disputes,- (2) giving an assurance that tho Uniou is not framed for tho purposo of reducing laborers’ wages. A conference on tho first subject is to bo bold at Timaru on tho 12th inst.
