THE ELECTIONS.
By the telegram published this morning from our Wellington correspondent it will be .seen that the date for the election has been definitely fixed for the 15th of next month.. Therefore there will not be much delay in the campaign. That is perhaps just as well, for there is nothing gamed ny long drawn-out electioneering campaigns. There is one strong objection to the loth of November from a business point of view. That day falls on a Saturday, ami it means the best day of the week' 1 for business purposes is lost. It is to be hoped that there will not be a persistent attempt to hold the elections on a. Saturday. The retailers have quite enough to put up with without having the Saturday monopolised for the elections.
