A French inspector of police who had a two hours’ engagement with a mad cat in a cellar in Paris on coming out victorious was hugged and kissed by the ladies cf the house, who declared he had saved them from-a dreadful death.
Eleven thousand officers an! men. sick and wounded, have been medically treated at the Military Railway Rest Hospital, Pretoria, since August, 1900. The hospital has now been closed.
