CONGRATULATORY MESSAGES,

The Federal Postmaster presided at the official opening ot the Pacific Cable at Southport, and sent messages to Sir Wiitried Laurier and President Rousovolt. Tho Mayor cabled the Lord Mayor ol Loudon and Mayor of New Turk, and Mrs Drake wired to Lady Hupetoun, Lady Lumiugtou, Mrs Pmlp, anu Mrs Seddon. Telegrams were also despatcued to otuer notabilities.
