WESLEYAN SYNOD

Invorcargill, last night. At the Wesleyan Synod'today the Rev. Wilson passed in his third year’s probation. Tho statistical returns for Otago and Southland are: Churches 35, other preaching places 46, ministers 15, homo missions 0, local preachers 60, member 2007, with 139 on trial. There haß been an increase of 60 Sunday-schools, Tho number of persons attending Wesleyan services is 0985. The Synod resolved that the question of removal expenses be remitted to the quarterly meetings by the forthcoming Conference. Resolutions were passed in favor of Eiblo in echecis and the -suppression of the totaiisator. The next Synod will bo held in Dunedin.
