By Telegraph—Press Association. Wairoa, yesterday. The members of the Land Purchase Board inspected Mr J. Hunter Brown's Whakaki estate, and are satisfied that it is suitable for close settlement. They intend to recommend its purchase, which will rest between the Government and the owner.
The accommodation house at Waikaremoana is finished. The furniture arrives s o-tly. News from Ruatahuna states that the ancient fighting pa that has been built there will be a great attraction. It is the onlv one in tx stence.
All the Urewera lands have now been put through the Court. Lists of owners will shortly be gazetted.
