GREATER CHRISTCHURCH.
A conference of representatives oi the boroughs of Linwood, Sydenham, and St. Alban's was heid to-night to consider the Greater Christchurch scheme. After discussion, it was resolved to adjourn for the supply of further figures. The delegates present spoke in opposition to the Greater Christchurch scheme, but said that they were in favor of the institution of a Metropolitan Board of Works, to take, the control of such matters as electric lighting, drainage, water supply, and tramways.
