The intense boat in tho Clarence river district is affecting tho maize severely. Whole fields are scorched, and will be destroyed unless rain soon comes. GOODOOGA PUTS UP A RECORD. 123 IN THE SHADE ! - By Telegraph—Press ABsooiation—Copyright Sydnoy, Jan. 4. Goodooga yosterday put up a heat record, 123. Bourke went up to 1211. A cyclono in tho evening destroyed a number of houses, and also unroofed many others. It did considerable other damage. A fall in the thermometor was followed by thunderstorms in other places, which eased tho situation.
