NORFOLK ISLAND.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Jan. 3. A missionary from Norfolk Island, interviewed, said the mystery surrounding the political future of the island was causing anxiety. A majority of tho people were afraid to be tacked on to tho Australian Commonwealth. To that they have decided objections. If tlaoro is to bo a change, they would rathor be under New Zealand oontrol. For Bomo reason or other not readily explainable, the majority aro anything but partial to New South Wales. Tho chief argument against tho inclusion in tho Commonwealth is the probable heavy taxation, and foars as regards losing their inherent rights to the island by the admission of outside settlers.
