DOMAIN BOARD.

After the Borough Council business had been concluded last night, the Councillors, in their capacity as members of tkc Gisborne and Makaraka Domain Boards, met. In regard to the Victoria Domain, it was stated that there had been no meeting since. 1898. The balance showed there were no receipts or expenditure, and the report showed that the ground had been leased and improved. Cr Jones asked if there had been any .statement of accounts from the Trustees. The Secretary replied m the negative. Cr Jones said he thought they ought to have had such a statement, and the .Secretary undertook to iiive the Trustees a reminder. The Makaraka Domain Board,which '-ad started with a credit balance of twopence, now’ showed a credit balance of £27 3s 2d, the sum of £33 15s having been collected for rent. H was reported that the ground was in good order, except that some oriars required grubbing out ol tuc plantation. Cr Whinray gave notice to move that Government he applied to for leave to sell the Domain, for the proceeds to be devoted to the beautifying of the Recreation Ground.where the Coronation memorial is to he erected. The Mayor said that the Domain was not for the borough alone, hut for the whole county, _ Cr Harding questioned u Government would ever give such authority.
