The sire of Young Heed Laddie is Herd Laddie (imported), bred oy John Templeton, St. Quivox, Ayrshire, sire Jemmie Gray, dam Sally, nv Baronet, by Newstead, grand-dam, Jess, by Prince of Wales. Herd Laddie gamed first as champion at Nathalia in 1890 first and champion and ‘the Doherty Challenge Cup at rhe same show in 1891, and first and champion prize* at Tatura the same year. Herd Laddie was imported from Scotland by Mr H. Ray, and was afterwards sold to Mr D. Archibald for 750 guineas. Young Herd Laddie s ‘dam, Darling, by Lord Salisbury (imp.), by Young Conqueror, dam Darling, by Tintock, grand-dam Jean, by Surprise.
