BUSH FIRES.
It is feared that when the reports come to hand it will be found that thers has been considerable damage done. Rather serious reports came to hand from Morere last evening, and details will be awaited to-day with much interest. Fears were expressed that the scenery in the vicinity of the Springs had been to some extent destroyed by fires. It is known that some stock has Ibeen destroyed, but it is impossible while the fire is raging to obtain any 'definite particulars. Reports from tbe Coast are to the effect that some damage has been done. A fire that went through the Whaugara bush has, it is believed, destroyed a large number of puriri sleepers.
