Tlic latest news received yesterday in regard to the hush (ires was of a more favorable nature. Ju the morning the following Press Association message was received from Wairoa : "The Morerc bush (ires were smouldering yesterday (Sunday.) A heavy westerly gale is blowing to-day, fanning the (ires into a big blaze. The Ilot Springs bush has been' burnt at the back of the hotel, and a strip across the path leading to the baths. It is reported that one of the Messrs Coop .Bros, was in the hush Tor four days, and was cut off by fire and smoke, having a trying experience- At Tahaenui Messrs Vaughan, Barney, Hook, and Ihaka Whanga lost grass seed and fencing.’:
