A GREAT DIPLOMATIC TRIUMPH By Telegraph— Press Association—Copyright Received 11.29 p.m., Jan. 26. London, Jan. 26. Tho Times’ New York correspondent says that America accepts tho Alaska Commission as a proof oi England’s friendship. The new and lasting bond of union will probably result in a greater diplomatic triumph to all concerned than the Hay-Pauncefote treaty. It is expected that the Senate will notify acceptance. The correspondent adds : Lord Chief Justice Alverstone will probably be one of the British Commissioners.
