A TORNADO
By Telotrraph—Pross Association. Ashburton, last night.
A tornado of extraordinary force and in a narrow compasß passed over a portion of Ashburton shortly after 1 o’clock this afternoon, destroying everything in its track. The large sheds of the Farmers' Co-operativo Association and D. Thomas wero partly demolished. The timber in Tucker’s yards was scattered and carried 100 yards away. Windows in other business premises were smashed in with flying pieces of timber and iron, and other damage was done.
