GISBORNE’S GUARANTEE AVAILETH NOT. NO SHOW FOR TWO YEARS, (Per Press Association.) Masterton, last night,

The annual meeting of the Brass Bands Association was held this evening. The report showed that 29 bands were affiliated, being an increase of five over last year. The receipts for the year wero £IOO and the expenditure £222. The balance in hand is £33. Mr M. Cohen was reelected President. Mr F. J. Oakes was re-elected Secretary, and it was decided to pay him a salary of £3O per year. Considerable discussion took place as to where the next contest should be bold. The places proposed were Gisborne, Auckland, and Palmerston North. It was decided to hold the contest in 1904 at Palmerston North, and the 1905 contest at Auckland. The location of the contest for 1906 was not fixed.
