In ail action for damages lor boycotting at Sligo one of the defendants, Father Spellman, president of tho League branch, did not appear, alleging that plain till’s solicitor, in opening the ease, sneered at the priesthood. Judge Morris declared that this was shulllmg and reprehensible. A priest was amenable to tho law, and not entitled to plead his sacred office, particularly when the heads of the Church everywhere condemned boycotting. Ho gave judgment fo.i the full claim, and regretted his inability to quintuple the amount.
