Auckland, last night.

The Herald understands that Government havo acquired Coebeck Bros.’ property for closer settlement. Tho estate, which consists of about 12,000 acres of limostono and sandstone country, is situated between WhaKapirau and Maungaturoto, in Otacnotoa County, and on Kaipara waters. It is essentially a cattle country, but it is behoved the Government intend to try viticulture on some of the property. The cutting up of this estate should give a further impetus to tho dairying industry, which has recently boon started in tho district with marked success.
