ADDINGTON MARKET.

Christchurch, last night. There was a fair attendance at the Addington market to-day. Eat cattle : 175 head were yarded, an average range of quality. The demand was irregular, but prices on the average wore unchanged, except for cow beef, which was slightly easier. Steers mado from £6 17s Gd to £ll 12s Gd ; heifers, £5 17s 6d to £8 5s ; cows, £5 10s to £9 2s 6d; good beef, 24s to 26s per 1001 b; cow beef, 225. Fat sheop: The entry was good in number and quality, but there was a very slow sale, several exporters being merely onlookers. All sheep of good quality, however, brought the previous week’s values, but old ewes were decidedly lower. Freezing wethers, 16s to 19s 7d; maiden ewes, los to 17s 9d ; prime heavy ewes, 16s to 19s; ordinary to good, 12s 6d to 15s ; aged, from 10s 3d. Fat lambs : An entry of 2450 met a very sluggish demand, but prices were not quotably lower, except for secondary grazers’ lots. Freezers, 12s 6d to 14s 8d ; butchers’ and grazers’ descriptions, 10s to 12s 7d.

Pigs : There was a small entry and good demand, the price advancing on the previous week’s rates. Baeoners brought 45s to 555; porkers, 30s to 42s 6d ; stores, 22s 6d to 355; small stores, 17s to 21s; suckers and weanors, 14s to 16s ; porkers realised 5d to 6d per lb ; good baeoners averaged sd.
