The King is making splendid progress. Sir Francis Laking, Physician-in Ordinary to the King, reports that the period in which any complications are likely is already past, and ho anticipates an early convalescence.

The newspaper Lancet is authorised to state that the King for a weak past has has not been in his usual health. He complained on Friday of a moro sensitive cold than usual. Tbe attack ol iufluonza is slight. Ho is not confined to his bod, only to his room.

The King’s and Queen’s thoughtful message, expressing regret to tbe authorities and people of Derbyshire at their being unable to visit Chatsworth, was warmly appreciated.
