ENGLISHMEN IN CANTERBURY.

The Canterbury v. England match was begun to-day. There was a perfect pitch and fine weather. The Englishmen won the toss and went to the wickets. At the dose of play they had lost six wickets for 262 runs. The scores were :—Warner 57, Burnup 65, Fane 5, Taylor (not out) 50, Dowson 13, Bosanquet 16, Johnson 7, Thomson (hot out) 32, extras 17.
