FURNITURE LOCK-OUT.
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night, Mr Tregear, Secretary of Labor, had to-day a conference with some of the largest firms in the furniture trade. He had also heard the c.aims of the men, and holds a further conference with the employers to-morrow morning, with a view of getting them to appoint three delegates to confer with three representatives of the workers to-morrow night, and, if possible, arrive at a settlement of the difficulty.
