An interesting trip on an Oldsmobile motor-car has just been accomplished by Mr A. H. Brooks, of Auckland, representative of the Campbell - Ehrenfried Company, Limited. The machine was driven by Mr J. Begg, an expert from London, and the itinerary embraced a wide stretch of country, commencing at the Thames, and including Waihi, Tauranga, Botorua, Tirau, Morrinsville, Te Aroha, Wairongomai, Cambridge, Hamilton, Te Awamutu, Ohaupo, Whatawhata, Ngaruawahia, and other places between ' there and Auckland. The trip occupied a fortnight, and as the weather was good, and no serious mishaps occurred, it proved most enjoyable. To take some men and women from the streets or the gaol gates and set them to work at poor rates of pay, so that what they produce can bo retailed at rates lower than are compulsorily charged by those who must live by their labor, is to create an influx of “ rescuable ” material at one end as fast as it is “ rescued ” at the other.
