NOXIOUS WEEDS.
(Per Press Association.) , Invercargill, last night. My McCarthy, S.M., gave judgment to* day in the case under the Noxious Weeds Act against A. Blackie, farmer, for failing to take effective measures in dealing with Californian thistle on his land, the Magistrate holding that the failure of the Government or other land holders adjoining to clear their land of the weeds was no excuse-. Being first prosecution in that locality, a fine of ten shillings only was exacted,
