FEARFUL GALAMITY.
VOLCANIC OUTBREAK. OVER 100 PEOPLE KILLED A TOWN OVERWHELMED.

April 30, A disaster, attributed to volcanic agency, destroyed the colliery at Frank, in the north west of Canada, killing over one hundred people, chieily women and children. and entombing twenty miners. The valley was violently shaken at daybreak, and this experience was followed immediately by an eruption in Turtle mountains overlooking the town. Millions of tons of rocks were thrown up, covering the entrance to the mine, burying buildings, and covering all persons outside the workings. Some reports state that the country is covered with lava and scoria. Crow’s Nest river is blocked with lava. A new crater is ejecting lava. SIXTY MEN IN GREAT PERIL.
