MOUNTED RIFLES’ CONCERT.
A parade of the East Coast Mounted Rifles took place at Pututahi yesterday afternoon under Captain Coiebuurne. There was a largo muster, and the mana-u----vus wero viewed by a large numner of spectators. The City Baud (under Bandmaster Chrisp) pluyed selections during
the afternoon. In tho ovemng a concert was held in tho Pututahi Hull, which was crowded, tho audience including a number from town. A lirst-class programme was given and much appreciated. There was disappointment in accompanists not arriving from town, but Miss Theta Evans kindly undertook tho accompanying for the majority of items, and gavo full satisfaction. Tho other accompanist was Mr J. Chrisp. After tho concert a dance took place. Tho concert programme was as follows :

“Bailors of tho King,” Bugler Sherrill; sung, " Anchored,” Trooper R. Parker ; recitation, “ Miss Malone on tho Chinese Question,” Trooper A. Willson ; song, “ Homo, Boys, Homo,” Lieutenant Tomblcsou (encored); “ Soldiers in tho Park,” Scrgt.-iUajor Evans (encored) ; song, “The Shopwalker,” Corporal Zachanau (encored) ; song, “ Tho Maid of the Mill,” Trooper Oates. Interval of ten miuutes: Grumaphonu, lent by Trooper Thompson; cornet solo, mureh, Mr Halford ; recitation, " Charge oi Light, Brigado,” Trooper Matthews ; song, “ Arab’s Farewell to his Stood,” Trooper D. Parker: song, “ She’d Never Been Tliore Before,” Bugler Sherrill; recitation, “ Hull M'aoriland,” Trooper Delarnere ; song, “ Bads in Navy Blue,” Sergt. Evans; recitation, “Gunga-Dm,” Trouper Kinder; song, " British Lion,” Trooper Oates.
