HAWKE’S BAY LAND BOAKD.

MATTERS AFFECTING GISBORNE | Special to Times. | Napier, lost night. At the meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Land Board the following matters of interest to Gisborne were dealt with : An application was received from Mr A. P. Agnew for a license over sections 6 to 10, block 9, Uawatown. —Yearly license was granted at £1 15s per annum. The Tiniroto branch of the Farmers’ Union called attention to the spreading of noxious weeds on unoccupied sections in Tiniroto village.—lt was decided to refer the matter to the Department. George Rasmussen applied to bo allowed to acquire the small area north of his section 17, Alotu village.—Deferred for report of Commissioner. The Motu branch of the Farmers’ Union asked that the surrender of pastoral run 47 be accepted and the run cut up for settlement.- —Commissioner to report.

The Clerk of the Wairoa County Council reported that T. P. Peedle had failed to pay county rates as required by Land Board.— Forfeiture to be considered if rates were not paid. The Land Purchase Inspector asked the Board to approve of the exchange of 23SS acres of Crown lands for Ruangarahu No. I, containing 2330 acres, the property of J. N. Williams.—Approved. The following applications were granted for unsurveyed lands in Urutawu East, Ncatapa, and Motu districts: —A. W. Horne, P. W. McLaughlin, J. N. Shaw, R. M. Graham, L. P. Bullcn, W. D. McDonald, 0. Nickel, H. M. Porter, E. J. Chrisp, C. Elliott, C. W. Fougcro, W. D. Black, Ada Jones, G. T. Seft-on, John Roddick, and R. F. Jackson. The followin'- transfers wore sanctioned : Horomona Turuua and others to J. B. and G. 11. Gillandcrs, sections 5 and 7, block 13, Nubaka North; A. Gibson to G. Jobson, section 1, block 15, Patutahi district. An application from Mr W. Sievwright, on behalf of H. Beaufoy. for a subdivision of section 12, block 11 ; section 1, block 15, and section 5, block 15, Motu district, and transfer to be allowed, part to his son and part to his wife, was referred to the Survey Department.
