MAYORAL ALLOWANCE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. The Mayor’s allowance for the current year was to-night fixed by the City Council at £4OO. The stupid old ghost trick is being played in Gore, Otago, just now. During the month of April 848 tons of kauri gum were received in Auckland.
